SAFIRA grows 20% in 2012

In 2012, the Portuguese technological company reached a turnover of €7.1 million, an increase of 20% compared to €5.8 million in the previous year and above the initial expectation (€6.5 million). International business represented 61%, the highest value ever. This year, SAFIRA expects a global revenue of €8 million, strengthen its activity in the UK and Spain, increase the number of projects in the Middle East and spread the presence to other Portuguese-Speaking African Countries, besides Angola. Regarding human resources, the company currently has 60 job openings for technical profiles.

SAFIRA growthOeiras, February 19th, 2013 - SAFIRA, provider of IT solutions and Consulting Services for the global market, today announced its financial results for the year 2012 and outlook for 2013. In 2012, SAFIRA reached €7.1 million in turnover, an increase of 20% compared to €5.8 million in the previous year and above the initial expectation (€6.5 million). In 2013, this value is expected to grow to €8 million, 70% outside Portugal.

Last year, SAFIRA strengthened its presence across borders with the opening of two new offices (Barcelona and London) and projects in 13 countries across 4 continents, including Portugal, United Kingdom, Angola, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Germany, France, Chile, among others. International business represented 61% of revenues (in 2011 was 44%), the highest value ever.

With regard to Human Resources, at the end of 2012 the company had a staff of 142 employees, 44 recruited last year (41 in Portugal and 3 in Poland). This significant increase at Carnaxide headquarters led to the need to double the office space area. The investment in training and team acknowledgement was once again reinforced with new certifications (70 from IBM and 50 from Microsoft) and the launch of SAFIRA Academy. For the 6th straight year, SAFIRA was distinguished as one of the Best Companies to Work according to the independent study of Exame magazine, jumping 23 positions from the previous year ranking. The company currently has 60 job openings for technical profiles.

2012 was also marked by new partnerships, namely with Topview, an Angolan consulting company. SAFIRA was also recognized as SME Excellence 2012, a status that distinguish companies that stand out for their economic-financial performance, rating notations and profitability.

In 2013, SAFIRA expects continue a 2-digit growth, reach a turnover of €8 million in 2013 (70% outside Portugal), participate in large IT events (such as IBM Impact or Microsoft Partner World), and enhance human resources policy by retaining and attracting the best talent. The international priority is reinforce international activity in the UK and Spain, increase revenue in the Middle East and invest in other Portuguese-Speaking African Countries, besides Angola.
